SpaceX Video Clip Captures Elon Musk's Reaction to Falcon Heavy Launch
The billionaire’s space project reached a new milestone recently when their largest rocket took off with a payload of a dummy astronaut and a Tesla sports car, and two of the three boosters made controlled landings which means that they can be re-used.
Founder Elon Musk looked on at the incredible display from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
SpaceX made history last week after the aerospace manufacturer successfully launched the Falcon Heavy rocket into space with the founder’s Tesla car onboard and a dummy astronaut named Starman, in homage to David Bowie, as well as a sign saying “Don’t Panic” - the motto of the guide book in HitchHikers’ Guide to the Galaxy.
Footage has now emerged showing Elon Musk monitoring the launch from the mission control centre in Cape Canaveral Airforce Station before erupting into a passionate outburst.
Mr Musk can be seen surrounded by several members of the SpaceX crew observing the SpaceX’s boosters returning back to Earth and performing a synchronised landing. Two of the three boosters landed safely and one crashed. This is a giant leap forward for space travel as it means that large payloads can be launched and the rockets re-used, making space expeditions cheaper.
