Urban Explorer Footage of Eerie Abandoned Care Home
Manchester Jah Irie Home, formerly for Jehovah’s Witnesses, lies wrecked and unused in this footage from Jake the Urban Explorer on YouTube. Old photographs, wheelchairs and medication, this is all that remains of an eerie boarded-up care home. Terrifyingly, there seems to be a prison cell in the basement.
Jake Parr visited the abandoned building in in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. His video shows the large detached house, which appears to have once housed the elderly and infirm, is in a decrepit state and has been badly vandalised.
Smashed furniture, broken porcelain fittings and ripped up floorboards all that remains of the once cosy interior, a trunk shows photographs of people long ago. In the basement they find wheelchairs, walkers, and most bizarrely, what appears to be a prison cell – purpose unknown.
